it (detailed instructions)

the CCleaner-window
In the Option-menu, that has
appeared right-next to the CCleaner-menu, click Settings
Checkmark the item Run CCleaner when the
computer starts, to allow
CCleaner to clean your computer every time you start it.
In the Options-menu, now click
Cookies, select the cookies that you want to keep
If you have additional folders
or files to be cleaned, then click Custom (in the option-menu) and select them (doesn't work in
the free version of CCleaner!)
Finally, click Advanced and remove the checkmark in front of Only delete files in
Windows Temp-folders older than 48 hours. This will allow CCleaner to clean the Temp-folders
thoroughly.

Open CCleaner, if you haven't
already done that
Click Cleaner, in the CCleaner-menu
Click Run Cleaner. CCleaner will clean all the folders and
items that are checkmarked in the Cleaner-Settings

Open CCleaner, if you haven't
already done that
Click Issues, in the CCleaner-menu
Click Scan for Issues to let CCleaner find cleanable issues in
the Windows registry, as far as the items are checkmarked in the Issue
Scanning Settings
When the issues-scan is
completed, you will see a list of cleanable issues.
If necessary, you can remove
the checkmark in front of items, so they will not be cleaned.
Click Fix Selected Issues... to let CCleaner remove the checkmarked
issues.
CCleaner
will ask you if you want to make a backup of the removed items.
Click Yes.
Save
the backup in a convenient folder.
CCleaner
will open a new Window, where you have control over het fixing-process.
When you're done, you have cleaned your computer and you can close
CCleaner :-)
